families

If you or someone in your family have a disability it can be difficult finding a holiday that meets your needs.  At the QE2 Activity Centre we aim to provide a venue where disabled parents with their children or families with disabled children are able to have a holiday together.

We want the whole family to be able to take part in activities so have developed ways of delivering activity sessions to allow each person to set and meet their own challenge. Because all of our users are individuals with their own strengths and weaknesses our activities need to meet a range of abilities.  Take climbing for example: we have walls that an able 14 year old sibling will find tricky and other walls that are achievable for someone with severe mobility problems.  Granny can go canoeing in our open canoes and baby will be quite safe in the motorboat.  The kids can explain to dad how to problem solve. . .

We try and make things easy for you – starting with getting here - the Centre is easy to find – the Manor Farm Country Park is close to Junction 8 of the M27 motorway.

The cabins provide a homely environment.  Each one is self contained with kitchen and shower/wetroom.  There’s a tv in each cabin (but we can hide it if you don’t want the kids to know).  There’s a communal garden area in front of the cabins and you have access to the sports hall in the evening for games, like skittles and table tennis.

If you don't want to take part in activities you don't have to, its not compulsory!  It may be equally valuable for family members to have the opportunity to do different things during the day and come back together later.  At the QE2 Activity Centre we take a flexible approach, we want to help you to have the holiday you want.
