There’s a wide range of activities available all designed to challenge and stretch you, but geared to a range of abilities so that there really is something for everyone . . .
adventure walks archery bushcraft canoeing climbing crab fishing green day horse riding
indoor games motorboat offsite walks orienteering problem solving raft building ropes course skittles team-challenge time team - history trail zipwire

There are lots of reasons people take part in outdoor activities . . .
because they like a challenge
because they’ve never done it before,
because they want to know what’s over the next hill
because its fun
because its there
At the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Activities Centre we provide opportunities for people with special needs to take part in activities. There’s loads you can do – canoeing, climbing, archery, ropes course, zipwire, horse riding, motorboat, problem solving, orienteering, tunnelling and green team. Around the Centre is 400 acres of woodland and farmland, making up the Manor Farm Country Park – the best kind of classroom in the world!
The best activities are the ones you do with other people – working together In an open canoe, spotting one another on a ropes course, belaying a friend who is climbing. It’s all about attitude – adopting a positive attitude to challenge and adventure, understanding risk and managing it – not avoiding it; gaining personal confidence and self esteem through taking on challenges and achieving success.
And when you’ve met a challenge – and achieved it – think about how good you feel – and think about the people who helped you achieve it – and those you helped achieve their aims. Appreciate yourself, appreciate your team.
Some of the skills you learn might be specific to that activity, a paddling stroke for example, others might be things you can use every day – understanding a map or tying a knot. And then there are those skills you didn’t realise you were learning – leadership and teamwork, communication and problem solving.
At the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Activities Centre skilled instructors can introduce you to a range of activities that you not have had the opportunity to experience before.
