Over the course of thirty years the range
of activities at the Centre has developed. New activities, like climbing, have
been introduced, others including cycling have come and gone. One activity that
has been consistent throughout the years is archery.
There’s a good reason for that. Archery is an activity for everyone. Archery
takes co-ordination, concentration, a fair amount of strength and uses both fine
and gross motor skills. Most people miss first time but with practice and good
instruction everyone gets better pretty quickly!
Not everyone has the strength and co-ordination to tackle archery unaided so we
have developed ways of working to ensure everyone can take part.
Using specialized equipment including bows mounted onto tables and posts and
quick release mechanisms we aim to remove the barriers that prevent people
taking part. Most importantly our instructors are on hand to give as much, or as
little, help as required.
