Friday evening club
Since 1978 the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Activities Centre has been the home of a social club for local people with learning disabilities. Between 7:00pm and 9:30pm each Friday the club meets for activities like badminton and skittles. Outings, parties and discos are regularly organised and new members are welcome.
The organisers, who are all volunteers, provide a programme of additional activities that include foreign travel, theatre and concert visits! Here's the programme for members for 2008 - note these are in addition to the weekly Friday club meetings.
