adventure walks
and orienteering
There's nothing like being outdoors, whatever the weather! In the 400 acres of Country Park around the QE2 Activity Centre there is so much to see all the year round. Not everyone enjoys going for a walk so we've found some ways to make it more fun! We've developed orienteering trails around the Manor Farm Country Park - as well as some other sites like Royal Victoria Country Park or Portchester Castle. Using different media like easily recognisable markers and photo trails we have tried to make sure that orienteering is an activity that everyone can take part in.
Some of the footpaths around the Manor Farm Country Park are not too good for wheelchairs but we have two answers to that. One is that we'll just try harder and find the best way of getting around. We don't think that just because someone uses a wheelchair they can't get to the wilds of Hampshire! The other option is that some of trails (particularly those at RVCP and Porchester) are on level ground.
Orienteering is one way of exploring the countryside, we can also offer walks based around exploring the environment, local history and art projects. Go on - hug a tree!
if you fancy something a little more extreme . . . then a stream walk is for you! Get down and dirty!
