The 400 hundred acre country park in which the Centre is based includes ancient woodland, a Roman Road, Anglo-Saxon earthworks, a Viking legend, a medieval wreck, Tudor buildings and a top secret World War Two army camp! With this wealth of heritage around us the Centre is an ideal place for a history week visit.

Looking at the woodland - trees, birds, animals, flowers and
fungi

river trip
Looking at the farm land, including a visit to the Manor Farm Museum
Woodland craft including building shelters, using outdoor camping stoves and
preparing a fire
Art Attack - creating visual displays and soundscapes using
materials found in the countryside
Conclusion - including a presentation of finds, collections and displays
There are a number of long distance walks in Hampshire including the Strawberry Trail, a 15 mile route which passes by the front door of the Centre. This walk follows the Hamble Valley from Botley, through Bursledon and Hamble, to Netley, and includes beautiful scenery, fascinating villages, bird spotting opportunities. The Strawberry Trail is not a totally wheelchair accessible route, but sections of it are and it is possible to have a series of walks that take in all the best bits.
You can arrange your own walking trips or you can do it with a guide from the Centre.
