the greenhouse is a new venture for the QE2 Activity Centre providing an educational and vocational day service for adults with learning disabilities, using green activities (allotment, gardens, woodlands) as the basis for a variety of learning and creative opportunities.
since 1978 QE2 activity centre has been providing activity opportunities for people with special needs
from October 2010 we will also be running a day service for people who would like to be doing something purposeful with their days
a full programme will be offered based around developing
· work skills,
· independent living skills and
· recreation & leisure
there’ll be a market garden to run, gardening and woodland management to do, recycling and basic workshop activities
we’ll
work on communication and numbers, cooking and computers plus there’ll be time to take
part in leisure and creative activities
initially the service will be available for three days per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting at 9:30 and ending at 3:30
there is the option of additional adventure activities between 3:00 and 5:00, depending on availability, demand and an additional payment
