this year we have three different types of HAS short breaks - standard, extreme and green.  Each of them involve two nights accommodation and two days of activities and all need to be booked through HAS Outreach 023 8063 3951.

the standard short break involves two days accommodation in a self catering cabin with two days of activities.  Activities usually include team challenge, canoe and motorboat, climbing, archery, ropes course and zipwire.  Depending on the time of year, the weather and what people want to do there may also be raftbuilding, stream walking, orienteering or bushcraft.

the eXplorers weekend is a new one - again two nights, this time one in a cabin and one under the stars!  On the first day we'll explore the Hamble valley on foot and by canoe with an expedition covering the entire tidal stretch of the Hamble River.   We’ll set off on foot from the Centre, along the Strawberry Trail to Botley. At Botley we’ll load up into canoes and paddle downstream all the way to Hamble, stopping en route for food.  We’ll disembark at Hamble Quay and follow the Strawberry Trail again, through the historic villages of Hamble and Bursledon arriving back in the woods of Manor Farm Country Park. We’ll set up camp and cook, eat and sleep under the stars.*

The following morning will start with breakfast round the campfire, developing into a morning of bushcraft activities. After lunch there will the option of taking part in some of the Centre’s wide range of activities.

*optional! Anybody who really can’t manage to sleep under the stars will be able to return to the cabins.

Finally, at the end of the summer, we'll be having a green weekend - for those who enjoy the outdoors but want a more general short break.  There'll be woodland wandering, arts and crafts, time on the allotment.  A gentle but stimulating weekend for all the family.
